The cottage

Nysockenstugan holds very high standards with a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator and freezer powered by liquified petroleum gas (electricity is not part of our "back to nature" concept!). Atmospheric lightng is provided by paraffin lamps.

A fireplace and a wood-fired boiler cater for heating and hot water. Compost toilet, washing facilities and shower are located in a separate building, and a well and pump can be found in the yard. There is also a wood-fired sauna, and to cool off just take a plunge into Nysockensjön, surrounded by nature. If you would prefer a relaxing bath, step into the wood-fired tub on the shore. A smaller log cabin with fireplace sleeps two.

The facilities are suitable for activities for the individual or groups of up to eight people. Staying the night i optional. Take your family away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and enjoy getting back to nature. Or maybe it's time for a night out with the boys enjoying a pilsner in the sauna, or a weekend away with the girls and a relaxing soak in the tub? The stay can also be combined with fishing.

• Nysockenstugan,19 km north west of Arvika in Värmland, is remotely located on the west side of Olebynäset - five metres from Nysockensjön. Get there by car via a 4 km private road on Olebynäset. The road is blocked by a lockable barrier.
• With respect of the allergic and overly sensitive there is a strict no-smoking no-furry-animals policy throughout the Nysockenstugan facilities.
