The surroundings

You are in a unique environment with regards to the opportunities of getting in touch with nature. The unspoilt location means the wildlife is rich. Close encounters with elk, deer, fox, hare, capercaillie and lynx are not unusual.

The wood-fired tub on the waterside lets you enjoy the nature the year round in any weather condition.

Feel free to light a fire and grill your food! Nothing compares to winding down by an open fire.

Explore the lake

Boat trips on lake Nysockensjön is a lovely experience. There is a rowing boat for shorter excursions by the cottage – more can be provided as needed. We can also provide canoes.

Fishing

Fishing in an unspoilt natural environment is a geniune experience both for the amateur and the more experienced angler. Lake Nysockensjön is renowned for its fishing – especially the pikeperch fishing in June through August is widely known amongst anglers. There is normally a good supply of pike and large perch the year round.

Olebynäset has few inhabitants. Forest environment is characteristic of the vast majority of the surroundings. Please follow the marked paths. The closeness to nature requires great care to preserve the unspoilt environment.

Arvika Tourist Agency provides information about tourist attractions, events and activities, sells souvenirs, walking maps, fishing licenses etc. During summer they also exchange foreign curency. Värmland's Tourist Council have information about events, food, attractions and activities throughout Värmland.

Canoeing/kayaking/hiking/
Glaskogen nature reserve is located on the borders of Arvika, Eda, Säffle and Årjäng's municipalities in west Värmland. Experience the 28 000 hectare wildlife area with meandering streams, large and small lakes and vast forests.

Skiing
Valfjället, with varied downhill skiing for the whole family, is situated right on the borders to Norway. Swedens first and the world's longest skiing tunnel, with snow safe cross country trails all year round, can be found in Torsby.
